Overview

Quiet Dwelling is an apartment interior design project completed by Kimbanjang Interior in collaboration with VNK Investment Consultancy. The brief was simple: create a calm, liveable home that feels warm without feeling heavy. The result is a Japandi-influenced interior built on a foundation of white walls, warm beige textiles, and light oak cabinetry — a palette that feels both fresh and deeply restful.

Delivered as a full 3D visualization package, the project covers every room in the apartment — from the open-plan living and dining area to the bedrooms, reading nook, and kitchen — giving the client a complete picture of the finished space before construction begins.

Concept & Idea

The name “Quiet Dwelling” reflects the core design intention: a home that doesn’t demand attention, but rewards it. Every room operates on the same restrained palette — white, warm beige, light wood, and touches of soft grey — so the eye can settle rather than scan. Geometric pendant lights in black wire add a graphic edge without breaking the calm, and full-height linen curtains soften the transition between indoors and out.

Each bedroom receives its own identity through wall murals. One room features a black skyline cityscape — a nod to the traveller’s spirit — while another carries a delicate tree-and-bird illustration, echoing the botanicals woven into the living room cushions. These personalised touches give the apartment a sense of story without introducing clutter or visual noise.

The built-in reading nook — a window bench flanked by full-wall open shelving — is the signature piece of the project. It folds storage, seating, and a moment of quiet contemplation into a single elegant corner, perfectly in keeping with the Japandi ethos of purposeful beauty.
